Join Us!

Chris and I have agreed to serve as Chairpersons for a very special event designed to jointly benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center (MCDC) at the University of Michigan. On May 17th, we will host the 2010 Swing to Cure Diabetes Golf Outing at the UM Golf Course. We invite you to join us at this worthy event.

You may know that our son, Jeffrey, battles against Type 1 diabetes.  Your support of this event aids the JDRF and the MCDC in their ongoing effort to treat this disease and funds the research that will lead to a cure.

Cathy Schembechler is our Celebrity Chair for a memorable day of golf, food, fun and friends.

On Monday, May 19th, we kickoff the event with an 11:00 a.m. shot-gun start.  Activities for the day include both a silent and live auction, competitions, prizes, and more.  A box lunch, beverages, and a buffet style dinner (catered by Outback Steakhouse) will be provided.

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the 2010 Swing to Cure Diabetes Golf Outing on May 17th!

Warm regards,

Chris & Rich Hewlett

 A Few Words From Jeffrey...
Ever since I was 4 years old, I have had diabetes. I don’t remember what life was like without diabetes. I wake up every day and the first thing I do is poke my finger.  Then after that, I take a shot to cover everything I have eaten. This is the routine I do before every meal, everyday. Even during school, I leave class 5 minutes early to test and give myself a shot before lunch. Diabetes has never slowed me down.

I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your help. I enjoy playing golf and am very excited about the Swing to Cure Diabetes golf outing. I hope to see you there!
